MicroValves using Suspension-type ERF

Micro suspension-type ERF valve for Inpipe movable micro machine

Micro valves using Suspension-type ERF are proposed and developed. The dispersed particle size of the ERF is 8mm of diameter produced by Fujikura Kasei. The fabricated valve can produce load pressure change of 0.20MPa at maximum electric field strength of 5kV/mm. The micro valves are applied to control an in-pipe micro machine with small-sized bellows-type actuators. The validity of the micro valve is experimentally confirmed through driving the in-pipe mobile micromachine.
